Luxor

Walk through thousands of years of history.

Temples × history × the Nile

Once the city of Thebes, Luxor holds a third of the world's ancient monuments. Karnak's forest of columns, the painted tombs of the Valley of the Kings, and a sunrise drift over the West Bank by hot-air balloon.

We pace Luxor slowly — Karnak in the cool of the morning, Luxor Temple when it is lit at dusk, the West Bank before the tour buses arrive.

Most of our Nile cruises begin here, so the temples of the East and West Banks become the first chapter of a longer story upriver.
